A friend from Malaysia was packing instant ramen into her suitcase before a trip to Japan. When I asked why, she said:

"I might not be able to find anything I can eat there."

Japan is famous for its food. But for her, much of it wasn't an option. That moment is where Freedom Ramen began.

Billions of people around the world make food choices shaped by religion, values, or health. Muslim. Vegan. Vegetarian. Food has never been more personal.

And yet much of the food around us is still built around one assumption: that everyone eats the same way.

Same table, same meal. Except you can't eat any of it. That's not just inconvenient. It's a quiet kind of exclusion, and most of the time, nobody even notices.

But it doesn't have to be that way. Sometimes, all it takes is another option.

So we looked at one of the world's most beloved foods, a food millions of people couldn't eat. And decided to do something about it. We created a ramen everyone could share.
